Hot news about the powerful American make-up brand M.A.C.’s special line developed by the French grafitti artist FAFI! We all know or at least heard about the Fafinettes, the beautiful, funny, sweet and super hot characters who are a registered mark of the artist (keep an eye on the street walls of Paris, New York, Hong Kong and even little Tolouse to check her art).

What M.A.C. did to the whole Fafinette universe was transform it into strong and shiny make-up (with cool names) which reflected FAFI’s street art sensuality. ::Abertura da Exposição de Christian Guémy na Galeria Plastik::

Colorida? Excitante? Emocionante? Fofa? Não há palavras suficientes que consiga descrever a sensação de pisar na Galeria Plastik com todas aquelas pinturas e stencils, literalmente, olhando para você. Nina Guémy, a filha de 5 anos de C215 foi a estrela da noite aqui no Brasil enquanto também era a estrela do dia na França, onde mora com a mãe.

Todas as obras foram baseadas em fotos que Christian Guémy tirou dela em momentos de descontração, como comendo batata frita, rindo, fazendo careta ou se equilibrando em um portão. Entre as pinturas havia fotos de grafites e stencils que o artista fez na França, sempre com o foco na pequena Nina.

Tímido e discreto, Christian conversou com todos os presentes. Alguns visitantes prometeram que vão olhar para seus filhos com olhos artísticos, outros trouxeram os seus próprios para ver “a menina do quadro”.

C215 nos faz pensar na relação de pais e filhos na família moderna. Ele mesmo é divorciado e lamenta não ver a sua filha com tanta freqüência e usa suas habilidades artísticas para se sentir em contato permanente com ela.

Colorful? Exciting? Emotional? Cute? There aren’t enough words to describe the feeling of stepping into Galeria Plastik with all those paintings and stencils literally looking at you. Nina Guémy, C215’s 5 year-old daughter was the star of the night here in Brazil while also was the star of the day in France, where she lives with her mother.

All the paintings were based in pictures Christian Guémy took of her in pleasant moments, like eating French fries, laughing, making funny faces or balancing next to a gate. There were some framed pictures of stencils and graffitis he did in France exposed with all the other paitings, always focusing on little Nina.

Shy and discrete, Christian chatted with all the visitors. Some of them promised to look at their kids with artistic eyes, while others brought their own children to look at “the girl in the painting”.

C215 makes us think about the relation between parents and sons and daughters in the modern family. He is divorced himself and regrets not being able to see his Nina as much as he wishes to and uses his artistic skills to feel permanently in touch with her.

New York Comic Con - 18 a 20 de abril

A New York Comic Con é a maior feira de “popular culture” da costa oeste dos Estados Unidos e abrange as mais diversas formas de arte popular, como Comic Books, Toy Art, Anime, Mangá, graphic novels, filmes, vídeo games, televisão etc.

O legal desta (e de outras feiras do gênero, como a San Diego Comic Con, a maior da costa leste) é a proximidade do artista com seu público. Com hora marcada, claro. Na “Artist Alley” o visitante vai encontrar dezenas de artistas desta cultura. Alguns nomes não são tão conhecidos por nós brasileiros que não temos essa cultura “Comic Book” tão forte em nossas vidas (pena).

A quantidade de expositores é absurda: quase 500, entre marcas de toy, roupas, Comic Books, editoras etc. Cada uma levando a sua novidade da estação. Muitos stands ainda trazem artistas consagrados para uma hora de autógrafos disputadíssima. Em alguns casos, para ter acesso, o visitante deve pegar uma senha 24 horas antes pelo menos. Mas vale a pena, pois sempre rolam sorteios e giveaways goodies de toys e apparels que não serão vendidos nas lojas.

Alguns lançamentos já foram anunciados, como o 400% Bearbrick by Tokidoki com um design meio futebolístico bem empolgante. Também da Tokidoki, Simone Legno vai assinar sua linha de pen drives Mimobot no stand da Mimoco. A MindStyle já divulgou vários de seus lançamentos (veja nas fotos acima) assim como a Adfunture que divulgou a nova série Blindbox (será limitada?) “Perk Pioneer” do artista Perk. Meio macabro estes bonequinhos, não? Com certeza fará o maior sucesso.

Tem ainda mais uma lista imensa de coisas legais para ver e fazer na NYCC que é melhor você olhar direto neste link. Uma coisa bem bacana que acontece lá é um review do portfólio da galera. Quer trabalhar na Marvel? Leve seu portfólio completo que os experts no assunto lhe darão alguns palpites sobre seu trabalho.

O evento por si só já é um escândalo, mas se quiser atravessar as barreiras da aventura compre na loja da NYCC os kits com convites e acessos VIPS às várias sessões de autógrafo. Escolha seu artista favorito, leve a revistinha dele e ta dá! Tem à venda também vários toys feitos exclusivamente para o evento. Em torno de 10 a 45 dólares cada.

New York Comic Con is the biggest popular culture fair of east coast of The United States and gathers the most diversified forms of popular art, such as Comic Books, Art Toys, Anime, Manga, Graphic Novels, Films, Video Games, Television etc.

The cool thing about this (and other fairs like San Diego Comic Con, the big one on the west coast) is the proximity of the artist with his audience. With a schedule, of course. On “Artist Alley”, the visitor will find dozens of representatives of the culture. Some names aren’t so known by us Brazilians due to our lack of Comic Book culture in our lives (what a shame).

Almost 500 expositors (an absurd number) are participating, like toy brands, clothes brands, Comic Books, publishers etc. each one bringing the news of the season. Many booth stands takes their super artists to the show for a signing hour. In most of them you must pick a password 24 hours before it. But it’s worth it, cause there are always giveaway goodies which will be never in stores.

Some releases have been already announced, like the 400% Bearbrick by Tokidoki with a catching soccer design. Also from Tokidoki, Simone Legno will sign his Mimobot pen drives at Mimoco booth. Mindstyle brand also announced some of its releases (check the pics above) just like AdFunture, who spread the word about its new Blindbox (is it limited?) series “Perk Pioneers” from Perk. Kinda spooky, ahn? It’ll be a huge success, I suppose.

There is list of fun things to do and see at NYCC, so it’s better for you to check it here. Another great thing is a portfolio review by experts on the Comic Book market. Wanna work at Marvel? Bring your complete portfolio and they’ll analyze it.

The fair alone is already a big deal, but if you wish to pass the adventures barrier you can buy at the NYCC store VIP tickets and goodies pack which will give you free access to autograph sessions. Pick you favorite artist, bring his comic book and way to go! They have for sale some very nice toys made exclusively for the event. Around 10 to 45 dollars each.

Toda vez que chega uma importação de toys na PLASTIK é uma loucura. A Galeria Plastik fica meio interditada por um dia, toda a equipe se mobiliza para fazer a contagem, colar etiqueta, arrumar lugar no estoque e ainda vibrar com tudo que chegou. Every time a toy importation arrives at PLASTIK people go crazy. The Galeria Plastik get kind of blocked for a day, the whole staff helps to do the product counting, stick the tags, settle it in the stock room and even get all excited with all the new things. Outro dia recebemos uma “denúncia” anônima de que estão vendendo Gloomy Bears falsificados pela internet! Não é de se espantar, pois o ursinho homicida é tão popular que não custa nada para pessoas mal intencionadas copiarem o design de Mori Chax e lucrar em cima.
Todos já devem saber, mas a PLASTIK faz questão de reforçar: TODOS os produtos (exceto as obras da Galeria Plastik e toys de artistas nacionais) à venda na loja e na loja virtual foram importados diretamente da própria marca de toys e distribuidores certificados. Dessa forma garantimos a autenticidade dos nossos produtos. A couple of days ago we received an anonymous denouncement that there are people selling FAKE Gloomy Bears through the internet! This news is not really chocking, because the cute homicide bear is so popular that is doesn’t cost anything for bad intentioned people to copy Mori Chack’s original design and take illegal advantage of it.
Everyone may know, but PLASTIK reinforces it: ALL the products (except the Galeria Plastik art and soma national artists’ toys) available at our store and webstore were imported directly from the toy brands wholesales department and from certified distributors. This way we guarantee the authenticity of our products. It’s always good to remember that PLASTIK imports in a legal way, our products containers goes through all the regular inspection and it’s the only Art Toys store who owns a INMETRO quality stamp on their products.

Don't be a fool, stay in school! FAKE Gloomys? NEVER!

Verdadeiro:
- Não tem “miolo” na orelha;
- Suas garras são grandes e de duras de plástico;
- O sangue é opaco e duro, bem colado ao plush;
- O olho é de plástico (“botão”) ou de couro sintético;
- Os olhos são do mesmo tamanho, retos e com a mesma distancia até o focinho.
- O nariz é pequeno e fica no em cima, no meio do focinho;
- As garras são proporcionais, retas e ficam na ponta do bracinho do Gloomy;
- O Tag (etiqueta de papel) é sempre preso à etiqueta bandeirinha atrás do Gloomy;
- A orelha tem uma pequena pence para dentro;
- O Gloomy chaveiro possui uma corrente de bolinha;
- Na edição “colors”, o Gloomy Preto tem os olhos amarelos e o Gloomy Cinza tem os olhos vermelhos;
- O Gloomy Pink Blood tem a baba e as garras de sangue. Não tem mancha de sangue na barriga;
- O plush é curto e uniforme, muito agradável ao toque.

Real:
- It has no “interior” in its ear;
- Its claws are big and hard, made of plastic;
- The blood is opaque, hard and well glued to the plush;
- The eyes are made of plastic buttons or synthetic leather;
- The eyes are the same size, straight and with the same distance from the nose;
- The claws are proportional, straight and on the end of Gloomy’s arm;
- The ear has a little fold inside;
- The Gloomy Keychain has a ball chain;
- The Gloomy Black from the “colors” edition always has yellow eyes and Gloomy Grey has red eyes.
- Gloomy Pink Blood had blood on his saliva under his face and on his claws. It does not have blood stains on his belly;
- The plush fabric is short, uniform and has a good touch;

Falso:
- Podem ter “miolos” na orelha (veja a foto do Gloomy Rosa à esquerda);
- Têm garras de tecido e mole;
- O sangue do Gloomy parece tinta plástica e é brilhante e pegajosa;
- Os olhos podem ser bordados ou com um botão de plástico com o tamanho diferente do original;

- Na versão “colors”, o Gloomy Preto tem olhos brancos (veja Gloomy Preto acima);
- O Gloomy Pink Blood possui sangue em lugares aleatórios;
- O plush varia muito, não é agradável ao toque, é disforme e possui falhas.

- It can have “interiors” on its ears (check Fake Pink Gloomy on the left);
- The claws are soft and made of fabric or cheap synthetic leather;
- Gloomy’s blood can look like plastic paint or have not the same button size of the original ones;
- It’s nose tip can be big and out of place on its face (check Fake Pink Gloomy pic again);
- The claws are not proportional and may be sewed in the “middle” of its arm;
- The ears are round without the fold sew;
- Gloomy Keychain had a string hanging it;
- The eyes aren’t parallel and are crooked sometimes;
- In the Gloomy “colors” edition, Black Gloomy has white eyes;
- Gloomy Pink Blood has blood stains on random places;
- The plush fabric varies a lot, it’s cheap, not good to touch, deformed and has mistakes.
